Last night was awesome. But let’s start from the morning.
Got up, went to school and chilled around the band room. Lots of people were practicing for scales, and I was quite relieved that I was done with them. (I got an 80!) And I was proud of Chelsea when she asked Ms B if she could do hers during the day’s band class. She was ready! Kiki also needed sneakers for gym class, and we ended up switching shoes before first block.
Then I went to math and we did more trig stuff that I usually get in class. And I did get it! It was odd though, but still understandable. And I talked a bunch with Marissa and it was all cool. I didn’t wear Kiki’s shoes because they were a bit small on my feet.
Then I went to Mythology and Parsont said that the test was postponed until Tuesday. We cheered, naturally. She also said that there were two people observing her. Then we went back to reading the Jason play, and some of the roles were picked. Andrew was Jason, Elliot was still Heracles, BK was still Pelias, Sara was Orpheus, (and an amazing one at that.) Courtney took my role of Hera, Court took the role of someone who I can’t remember right now, G-rant was Hylas, with Mike and Sam being the nymphs trying to seduce him. Ruth had a part. Ginny was Iris, and Allison was Medea.
It was all hilarious, especially the Hylas-nymph part. Then we watched more of the movie version and that was class. Court and I also freaked out about Colby when he walked in the room, it was really funny.
Then I dropped my stuff in the band room and went to lunch. When I got into the lunchroom, my shoes were waiting at the table and I took off Kiki’s shoes and put mine back on. I was glad of it. Then I got lunch and sat down with my lovely losers and Aly and I continued to make jokes about literally everybody. (Some kid came over and she told me how he used to think she was a lesbian, and then he said that she was either a lesbian or dating James, HAH. Then we joked that we were together just to fuck with him. It was really great.) Then it was band time.
We sat and warmed up, and then we played Sons of Veterans, which is part gross, part cool sounding, kind of like the Variations we got the other day. We also debated moving the thirds into the second row, but figured it wouldn’t work. Then we did scale performances again and I sort of just made fun of everyone because I’m an asshole like that. Then we played Les Miserables, which was pretty fun. (“There’s a hunger in the band.” “There are cupcakes for the end of class.” “AT THE END OF THE DAY…”) Then we had the cupcakes and they were pretty alright. I got the square brownie looking one, and part of the wrapper was baked within it.
Then I went to chem where we just did a bunch of enthalpy stuff, and then we were quizzed on it. We laughed because Erin was absent and Monika took her seat, and the guys then harassed her. Chief and I made funny remarks about that. He also said “I want to be a woman, I would be called Loretta.” Chief is my favourite.
Then the bell rang and I couldn’t bug Jordan because she was absent. So I chilled around the school for an hour, hanging out with Emily and just talking on the heater. Then we walked home and we split at the crosswalk like always, and I sang the rest of the way home. I saw Costello; I had no idea she lived at Hemlock. She complimented the bow-tie I was wearing, and everyone loved it that day too.
Then I got home and sat around, then we went to the mall. Bought some pants. Went back home and got ready for the dance. I found a dress, threw a cardigan over it, and curled a bit of my hair. Then I took the car and went to school. I saw my friends and then realized that I left my ticket on the couch. And for some reason, Kyle was the only one to realize that I curled my hair. (Or at least, verbally realize it.) We went inside and checked ourselves in, and they went downstairs. I had agreed to wait for Hannah, so I waited for her. I saw her mom’s car pull up, and she came in. Then we went down too, and not a lot of people were there. My friends and I then tried to get everyone else to dance, and we started the middle circle thing.
The dance was just really fun and I loved it. Not a lot of people went, but the good people did go. Mostly I stayed near Aria, Emily, Jordan, the Cherims, Bree, Ryan, Jake, Katherine, Kyle, and Adaire. (Kyle and Adaire are adorable and I am dying.) But occasionally I would go scare the shit out of Hannah, or go dance with Sasha, Jenna, Becca, and the other Emily. Or even Michael’s group!
But mostly I stayed near the first group, and we sang our hearts out, so much that I could feel myself losing my voice. We also danced like crazy and had a ton of fun. I felt like I was on a high. I enjoyed it a lot, and I was glad I went.
After three hours of being insane, the dance ended and we all got ready to leave. New York came up to me and gave me a hug. She said softly, “Thanks for being a great big sister.” I hugged her a bit tighter and said “Hey..no problem.” It meant a lot to me that she said that, because it means that she thinks of me the way I think of her. She’s annoying and weird, but she’s my little sister; if anyone hurt her, I would beat the shit out of them. And she knows that.
And so she left and I waited with the Cherims and Aria while they waited for their ride. We made fun of me driving my tank. We all hugged and then left. I went home and bummed on the computer for a while, still in my dress. Then I changed and went straight to bed.
